You are a complete jackass to discount reading a book simply because you dislike the title: “Myth of Male Power.” Your misandric bigotry is all too transparent. You have revealed yourself to be a shallow ignoramus.

Please do not send me anymore of your ignorant and uninformed comments. You actually seem proud to profess your abject obscurantism and utter stupidity. You have the temerity to gainsay me recommending books and govt agencies to educate yourself. It’s offensive when sophomoric people like you present as being “intelligent.” Then when you are exposed as being completely unlearned on a given topic you are actually so idiotic to then argue against educating yourself. Stop embarrassing yourself!

    9. MALE INCARECERATION RATES MORE REPRESENT DOUBLE STANDARDS, MISANDRY, AND GYNOCENTRISM THAN ANY ACTUAL, SUBSTANTIVE REPRESENTATION OF MALE VIOLENCE. YOU ARE A GARDEN VARIETY PERSON ENCULTURATED TO BELIEVE THE FALLACY THAT WOMEN ARE LESS VIOLENT THAN MEN’ AND THAT MEN ARE MORE VIOLENT THAN WOMEN. AGAIN, READ ERIN PIZZEY’S BOOK “PRONE TO VIOLENCE”; AND WARREN FARRELL’S BOOK “MYTH OF MALE POWER.”

    8. YOU NEED ANALYSIS AND CAUSALITY OF DATA. JUST AS WHEN FEMALES WERE MUCH LESS LIKELY TO BE PHYSICIANS OR LAWYERS, YOU WOULD NOT THEN SAY THIS INDICATED WOMEN WERE INTELLECTUALLY INFERIOR TO MEN. NOW WOULD YOU? WE UNDERSTOOD THAT THERE WERE STRUCTURAL REASONS FOR THIS. TO BLAME WOMEN FOR THEIR UNDERREPRESENTATION IN CERTAIN PROFESSIONS WAS DEEMED TO BE BLAMING THE VICTIM. . .YES? SIMILARLY, YOU ARE BEING A DISINGENUOUS HYPOCRITE TO IGNORE FEMALE VIOLENCE AND OVERREPRESENT MALE VIOLENCE.

    7. SO, YOU HAVE A LOT OF HOMEWORK TO DO. I’VE ALREADY CITED SEVERAL WELL KNOWN TEXTS AND GOVT CITES THAT YOU CAN VISIT IF YOU ARE SINCERE ABOUT LEARNING TRUTH AND NO LONGER WALLOWING IN THE ABYSS OF IGNORANCE AND MISINFROMATION.

    6. SO, IT SEEMS THAT YOU ARE JUST ANOTHER PERSON WHO IS UNINFORMED, PROPAGANDIZED, AND IGNORANT TO THE TRUTH ABOUT THE RELATIVE “VIOLENCE” STATS VIS-A-VIS MEN AND WOMEN. MANY VIOLENT CRIMES COMMITTED BY WOMEN ARE SIMPLY IGNORED IN THIS GYNOCENTRIC AND MISANDRIC SOCIETY. SO A DEARTH OF STATS ON FEMALE VIOLENCE MUST BE TAKEN WITH A MASSIVE DOES OF SALT. PLEASE EDUCATE YOURSELF IN THE FUTURE BEFORE MAKING ANY STATEMENTS ON TOPICS YOU TRULY KNOW NOTHING ABOUT. HERESAY DOES NOT CONSTITUTE FACT.

    5. US DEPT OF HELATH AND HUMAN SERVICES STATISTICS INDICATE THAT WOMEN ARE THREE TIMES MORE LIKELY THAN MEN TO ABUSE CHILDREN–EVEN WHEN ADJUSTING FOR THE FACT THAT WOMEN ARE MORE LIKELY TO HAVE CUSTODY OF CHILDREN.

    4. WOMEN RECEIVE THE DEATH PENALTY A SMALL PERCENT OF THE TIME; BUT THEY VERY SELDOM GET EXECUTED, WHEN COMPARED TO MEN SENTENCED FOR THE SAME CRIMES. MEN GET LONGER SENTENCES THAN WOMEN FOR THE SAME CRIMES. WOMEN ARE SELDOM CONVICTED WHEN ARRESTED FOR THE SAME CRIMES AS MEN. FEMALE PRISONERS GET MORE MONEY PER PRISONER. MEN 1000% TIMES MORE LIKELY TO DIE OF SUICIDE, HOMICIDE, OR EXCECUTION.

    3. A man convicted of murder is 20 times more likely to receive the death penalty than is a woman. American society protects women more on every level more than it does men. Since 1954 70,000 women committed murder of 50,000 men; but NO WOMAN HAS EVER BEEN EXCECUTED FOR KILLING A SINGLE MAN.

Doesn’t it tell you something about your reluctance to see the obvious that you read books about the “Myths of Male Power” and others about how horrible women are? Don’t you think that perhaps those books have their own slant on things?

    2. You are making an argumentum ad populum that does not cite actual facts but stereotypes and propaganda. In Myth of Male Power Warren Farrell cites some stats from the US Dept of Justice. Overall, men are twice as likely as women to be victims of violent crimes. Men are 3 times more likely as women to be victims of murder. FOR EVERY WOMAN KILLED IN VIOLENT CRIME 3 MEN ARE KILLED. FORCIBLE RAPE IS LESS THAN 4% OF ALL VIOLENT CRIMES; BUT 94% OF ALL OTHER VIOLENT CRIMES ARE DONE TO MEN.

    1. LOL! Who’s cherry picking here? If you are aware of statistics regarding male violence then you should also be aware of the inherent misandry and double standards of how men and women are treated in the criminal justice system. Read Warren Farrell’s book Myth of Male Power. Your smarmy and uninformed rejoinder only indicates how ignorant and indoctrinated you are about criminality in this society. Similar to racial profiling, criminality among women is mostly overlooked.

I know statistics on criminal activity. Men are more likely to commit violent crimes than women across the board. Your stats seem pretty skewed. I think what you are talking about is strictly domestic violence for one thing. And hey, if you read a book about women committing violent acts, I can imagine that the book contains a lot of info about women committing violent acts. Cherry picking?

    3. Please do research on “vicarious violence of women using men” and “female narcissism/competitiveness.” You should read a very good book about the violent tendencies of females entitled Prone to Violence by Erin Pizzey. The CDC, US Dept of Justice, and FBI statistics indicate that WOMEN ARE SLIGHTLY MORE LIKELY THAN MEN TO INITIATE VIOLENCE AND WHEN THEY DO INITIATE VIOLENCE THESE WOMEN USUALLY USE A WEAPON. It’s bizzare when people like you question the “motives” of people who state facts.

    2. Maybe you should do a bit of introspection about your own motives for taking exception to me making valid criticisms born out of verifiable facts, not my own subjective projections. It’s then folly for you to gainsay my comments. You present as solipsistic and not at all objective. It’s a bit childish for you to respond to me citing facts about female narcissism and their tendencies for vicarious violence by using males. You’re trying deflections. Keep focused.

    1. You have put your own spin onto my comment and created a straw man fallacy rejoinder in the process. You present as resentful and defensive by resorting to ad hominem allusions implying your paranoia about my “motives.” It is specious and obtuse to make such statements. People like you seem so narcissistic and have such fragile egos that any constructive criticisms stated regarding women at all result in resentment and rationalizations that you have so flagrantly shown with your comment.

I question the motives behind individuals who would consider preserving sexual or personal relationships in favor of avoiding wars/serious conflicts. Isn’t it true that men often protect their “kingdoms” not simply to help the womenfolk, but to enhance their own feeling of self worth as providers & champions of their domains? This isn’t a black and white issue and it isn’t fair to say that women are puppet-masters any more than it is fair to say that men are evil for having been the “puppets.”

I don’t think the poster contradicts him or herself by attempting to focus on the disorder rather than play some sort of blame-game. He/she was right to question the “fact” you brought up because it doesn’t seem to be in line with generally accepted research. Therefore, it seems more like an attempt to use anecdotal evidence to spread misinformation rather than a serious complaint about society’s mistreatment of the entire male race.

You also contradict yourself when you disingenuously say that you believe males are more competitive; but then you state it really doesn’t matter one way or the other. Yes, it does matter!!! Especially when public policies and cultural perceptions are being formulated according to misinformation about the reality and magnitude of female violence and pervasive dysfunction.
